Feature Update: Custom House Rules for Vrbo Listings Track Product Updates

Custom House Rules for Vrbo Listings

Overview Managing guest expectations starts long before the check-in. You can now define up to three Custom House Rules directly within your Vrbo channel configuration. This feature ensures that your specific property policies—those not covered by standard categories—are automatically included in your listings. This update provides clearer communication with guests and helps protect your brand standards.

Key Capabilities

Define Custom Policies

Add up to three custom policies(e.g., “Quiet hours after 10 PM” or “Remove shoes at entry”) to your listings.

Flexible Inheritance

Maintain total control over your portfolio. Set default rules at the Account level to apply to all properties, or override them specifically at the Node, Unit Type, or Unit level.

Automatic Synchronization

Rules set within the software push directly to Vrbo. This prevents your custom policies from being overwritten by Vrbo Dashboard defaults.

How to Use

Global Defaults

Navigate to your top-level Vrbo configuration to set default rules for your entire portfolio.

Unit Overrides

To customize rules for a specific property, open the Vrbo Channel Unit modal (Unit Profile > Policies > Vrbo Custom House Rules).

Enter Rules

Fill in the fields for Custom House Rule 1, 2, or 3.

Note on Character Limits

Each rule has a strict 150-character limit. To ensure your guests see your full policy, please verify your text length. Content exceeding this limit will be automatically truncated when sent to Vrbo.
